Is there car parking available?
A small number of accessible parking spaces are available within the Maungauika carpark on event days, on a first come first serve basis.
All other events visitors must park on the streets outside the Maungauika gates.
Can I bring by bike or scooter?
Bikes and scooters are allowed on the road but riding on the Maunga slopes and grassed areas is strictly prohibited.
Can I bring my dog?
Dogs are best left at home on event days, given the limited shade on Maungauika and the large crowds expected.
Is the event mobility accessible?
As Maungauika is a volcanic mountain and most paths are limited number of mobility parking spaces are available within the carpark mid-way up Maungauika.
There is no vehicle access to the tihi (summit).
Some walking along moderate inclines is required to reach the tihi and other areas with views of the water.
Can I bring alcohol to the event?
No. Maungauika is an alcohol and smoke-free maunga.
Is there a cost to attend Love Your Maunga events?
No. Love Your Maunga is a free community event.
Can I purchase food and non-alcoholic drinks at the event?
Yes. Food and beverage stalls will be available.
Stall holders can accept cash or Eftpos.
Can I bring cardboard for sliding?
No. Cardboard sliding on the Maunga slopes is not allowed.
Remember that the Maunga are waahi tapu – sites of cultural and spiritual significance.
